Basement Repair
Basements come in different shapes and sizes. Over the years we have had the privilege of being able to work in different types of homes and this has really allowed us to gather sort of list of main problems that we are going to see with basements. There is no question that a lot of the problems that we are going to have to face are in some way going to be related to an excessive amount of moisture within walls. We have said this in another area of the site just because you have placed insulating foam and then added drywall does not mean that you are going to be set for life.

More often than not the types of jobs that we are going to be called in, to help with, involve in some way or another repairing walls and floors that have developed cracks or have had moisture issues. The worst mistake that you can make is to just try and repaint or replace the flooring where the issues have developed without first addressing the problem. What we are going to be able to do is help you spot the actual source of the problem and get that fixed so that you can then put in some of the finishing touches!
Moisture Resting Drywall
Not all drywall or paint is going to be exactly the same. Some of the problems that we are called in to help with could have actually been avoided in the building process. Yet a lot of contractors are content with putting in cheap materials or actually the same type of materials that they would use at ground level in your basement. We are just going to tell you that not all drywall is the same. Do you know which one was used to build your basement?
Flooring Problems
As we have mentioned some of the more common issues that we are going to have to deal with will involve repairing or installing new floors. Again this is something that we think is important for us to clear up, we are going to need to go in and really tackle the problem before we just replace the existing flooring. In these cases, we are actually going to be able to see wet spots and even puddles on the floor when we have a problem. The best thing that you can do is not ignore these signs!
Prevention Is The Key
We know that when you already have a problem it gets really irritating when people say that prevention is the best cure. In these situations that is just the reality. If you want to make sure that your basement is going to be good to go to watch football this season you are going to want to take steps to ensure that there are no developing issues that we are going to need to worry about moving forward.
